Sleep Apnoea Testing and Maintenance Therapy

Sleep Apnoea is a largely undiagnosed sleep disorder where a person’s upper airway repeatedly collapses during sleep causing them to stop breathing for a period of 10 seconds or longer.

Millions of people are suffering with sleep apnoea, in fact, as many as 10% of the adult population have the condition.

Common symptoms experienced with Sleep Apnoea include:

• Early morning headaches

• Daytime sleepiness

• Poor concentration

• Irritability

• Falling asleep during routine activities

• Loud persistent snoring

• Witnessed pause in breathing, whilst sleeping

• Choking or gasping for air whilst sleeping

• Restless sleep

• Frequent visits to the bathroom

Sleep Apnoea can be detrimental to your long term health, as it may increase the person's risk to long term conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Heart Attack, Stroke or Heart Failure.

At Health E Advice Chemist, we have specialists in store to help you with either a diagnosis of Sleep Apnoea or to help you maintain your CPAP equipment to ensure optimal therapy.

Sleep Apnoea Testing

Unlike other sleep apnoea programs, Health E Advice Chemist in conjunction with Pharmacy Sleep Services utilise a clinically validated, non-invasive home sleep test device to help you feel comfortable while determining whether you have sleep apnoea.

Other programs utilise level 1 or level 2 testing, which requires a GP referral, and is considerably more expensive, invasive and time consuming.

At Health E Advice Chemist, one of our staff members will assist you with setting up the device, which you will take home to conduct the sleep test in the comfort of your own home. 

​

The data will then be analysed by a Sleep Physician and our staff will be in contact with a diagnosis, along with the extent of Apnoea recorded.
